About Lottie & Thomas

Lottie & Thomas is an independent retailer specialising in stylish clothes, shoes, toys, gifts and keepsakes for 0–8 year-olds. Lottie & Thomas started life as a shop in Thames Ditton, Surrey, with a web site to support the shop. Over the past three years I have seen such a tremendous growth in the internet sales that I have made the difficult decision to close the shop in order to concentrate fully on further developing the on-line store. As such, from 1st March 2010, Lottie & Thomas will be trading purely on-line and you can look out for a bigger, better On-line store with more brands and products on offer than ever before.

Philosophy

I personally source and purchase every item for sale in the Lottie & Thomas shop, and now the website. My philosophy is very simple:

is the quality of the fabrics and the finished article to a high standard? do the clothes represent good value for money? are they individual in style and not heavily branded? would I dress my own child in them? If the clothes get the thumbs-up to those four questions, they will be included in the season’s collection (provided of course, they look gorgeous as well!). As a mother of a small child I understand the need for: durability: clothes that can be washed, washed and washed again - and still maintain their colour and shape; prices that fall within a sensible budget; clothes that are easy and comfortable to wear - so no rough seams or sharp buttons or zips; and gifts and toys that are fully compliant with EC regulations on toy safety (in fact, many of them have been road-tested by Thomas - only those that survive make it on to my shopping list!) And, perhaps most importantly, I only work with reputable suppliers whose materials and manufacturing processes are fully traceable - and who do not exploit cheap or child labour.
